Francesco Camarda has committed his long-term future to AC Milan by signing a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2031. The agreement includes an additional one-year option in the club’s favour, potentially keeping the forward at the San Siro until 2032.
The Italy youth international returns to his boyhood club permanently after AC Milan triggered a buy-back clause to secure his release from Lecce. Prior to his temporary spell in southern Italy, Camarda had made 12 senior appearances for the Rossoneri in Serie A.
Buy-back clause activated
Camarda spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Lecce, where he accumulated 23 Serie A appearances, scoring once and providing one assist. The temporary deal contained a purchase option for the Giallorossi, which they activated in mid-June.
However, Milan retained a buy-back option within the agreement and exercised it just two days later, ensuring the teenage striker returned to the club where he has played since childhood. He has now signed a six-year deal that will see him remain at the San Siro until he is 23.
Record-breaking talent
The striker holds the record as the youngest player ever to appear in Serie A, having made his debut aged 15 years and 260 days. He entered the pitch as a substitute for Luka Jovic during a 1-0 victory against Fiorentina.
Camarda joined the club’s academy at the age of seven and developed through the Primavera and Milan Futuro sides before his first-team breakthrough. He recorded an exceptional scoring record at youth level, finding the net 485 times in 89 matches across various age categories.

AC Milan announced the renewal via their official channels, stating: “AC Milan is delighted to announce the renewal of Francesco Camarda’s contract until 30 June 2031, plus a one year club option.”
The club described the extension as the continuation of a journey “with the ambition to grow and reach new milestones.” The long-term commitment secures the services of a player widely regarded as one of the most promising attacking prospects to emerge from the Italian game in recent seasons.
