Juventus have contacted Benfica to discuss the availability of Anatoliy Trubin after baulking at Aston Villa’s valuation of alternative target Emiliano Martinez. The Serie A side are actively hunting for a new first-choice goalkeeper but have found negotiations for the Argentina international hindered by financial demands.
Aston Villa are reportedly seeking between €12 million and €15 million for the 33-year-old shot-stopper. Juventus consider this figure excessive and have subsequently widened their search across Europe, examining options that might offer better value in a competitive market.
Trubin carries €30m price tag
The Turin club’s latest approach centres on Trubin, the 24-year-old Ukrainian who has established himself at Benfica since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk. However, the Portuguese champions have indicated that any departure would require an offer of approximately €30 million.
This valuation places Trubin alongside Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario and Parma’s Zion Suzuki in a similar financial bracket. All three keepers remain under active consideration as Juventus attempt to balance immediate quality with long-term investment.
Spalletti prioritises overhaul
Head coach Luciano Spalletti has identified a new goalkeeper and a centre-forward as urgent priorities, yet Jeff Akhator remains the club’s only summer signing to date. The Italian champions are keen to upgrade on Michele Di Gregorio, who served as the club’s number one last season.
Earlier in the window, Juventus explored a move for Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, leveraging the existing relationship between Spalletti and the Brazilian from their time together at Roma. When that approach failed to progress, attention shifted towards Martinez and now Trubin.
With the transfer window entering its final weeks, Juventus must decide whether to meet Benfica’s substantial demands, reopen negotiations with Villa, or pursue Vicario or Suzuki. The club’s hierarchy face mounting pressure to deliver reinforcements before the new campaign begins.
