Fenerbahce have reportedly made a private jet available to transport Romelu Lukaku from Brussels to Istanbul this evening, clearing the path for the Napoli striker to complete his transfer to the Turkish club.
According to Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, the aircraft is scheduled to depart at 19:00 local time. The Süper Lig side have already secured an agreement with Napoli to sign the forward permanently, with the deal reportedly valued at €6 million plus additional performance-related bonuses.
Lukaku’s move would mark the next chapter in a career that has seen him represent clubs in England and Italy. His departure from Napoli comes after the Serie A side sanctioned the transfer following negotiations with the Istanbul giants. The evening departure from Brussels suggests Fenerbahce are eager to conclude the formalities quickly, with medical tests and contract signing expected to follow shortly after arrival.
Fayed Heads to Serie A
In a separate development confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahce have also agreed to sell Egypt international defender Omar Fayed to Frosinone. The 23-year-old is expected to travel to Italy on Thursday to undergo medical examinations and sign his contract.
The fee for the centre-back is reported to be €500,000. Fayed joined Fenerbahce in 2023 but has not made a competitive appearance for the senior team. He has instead developed through loan spells at Serbian club Novi Pazar, Belgian outfit Beerschot and most recently Portuguese side Arouca, where he spent last season.
Fayed’s move to Frosinone represents a permanent exit after just one year on the Turkish club’s books. The defender will hope to secure regular playing time in Italy following his experiences in Portugal and Belgium.
