Terms Agreed with Istanbul Club
Mohamed Salah has reportedly reached an agreement to join Beşiktaş JK following his departure from Liverpool, according to Foot Mercato. The 34-year-old Egyptian, now a free agent after concluding his trophy-laden spell at Anfield, is expected to sign a one-year contract that includes an option for a further 12 months.
The French outlet reports that Salah will earn a base salary of €10 million per season, with an additional €2 million available in performance-related bonuses. This structure provides security for both player and club as they assess the partnership during the initial campaign.
End of Merseyside Era
Salah departs Liverpool after more than nine years on Merseyside, having established himself as one of the club’s modern greats. The forward made over 440 appearances for the Reds, scoring 257 goals and collecting eight major trophies during his tenure.
His final season under manager Arne Slot proved productive. The attacker contributed 12 goals and 10 assists in 41 matches across all competitions during the 2025-26 campaign, demonstrating his continued ability to influence matches at the highest level.
New Chapter in Istanbul
The proposed move to Turkey comes shortly after Salah represented Egypt at the World Cup, where the Pharaohs enjoyed a successful tournament. Istanbul will become the fifth destination in his professional career, following spells in Egypt, Switzerland, Italy and England.
While personal terms appear settled, the transfer remains subject to formal completion. Beşiktaş will hope to finalise the paperwork swiftly to integrate their high-profile acquisition into pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign.
