The French top-flight side are seeking urgent cover following a devastating knee injury to summer recruit Laurent Abergel, according to L’Équipe.
Cruciate blow leaves Nice short in midfield
Nice’s squad depth has been severely compromised after Abergel ruptured a cruciate ligament, condemning the 33-year-old to an extended spell on the sidelines. The injury represents another setback for a club that has struggled with fitness issues across recent campaigns.
The situation is compounded by the likely departure of Hicham Boudaoui, leaving manager Franck Haise with only three recognised senior central midfield alternatives: Djibril Coulibaly, Morgan Sanson and Issiaga Camara.
