Despite the permanent nature of the transfer, Suzuki is not expected to remain with Luis Enrique’s squad for the forthcoming campaign. The club intend to arrange a temporary move elsewhere to ensure he continues developing with regular first-team minutes.
Juventus among loan options
Italian champions Juventus have been mentioned as a potential destination for the goalkeeper’s loan spell, although reports indicate they are not the only side under consideration. Chevalier ultimately surrendered his place in the side to Matvey Safonov following inconsistent displays. The demotion also cost him his standing with the France national team, where he has since dropped to third choice.
