This resurgence in form has not gone unnoticed, with prominent pundit Lele Adani suggesting that the American international’s happiness and tactical freedom are crucial elements behind his improved performances.
Adani on Pulisic’s Happiness and Freedom
Speaking on Rai 2, former defender turned pundit Lele Adani emphasised that Pulisic’s contentment is “fundamental for Milan.” He highlighted the importance of the player being allowed to “express himself freely in the zone between the lines, between midfield and attack,” where he can execute various actions and utilise his creative abilities. Adani believes this freedom is key to unlocking Pulisic’s full potential on the pitch.
Adani specifically credited Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system for creating the ideal environment for Pulisic to thrive. He explained that the tactical setup, featuring two free attacking midfielders, provides ample space for players like Pulisic to “open out, come inside and become forwards.” This flexibility within the system, Adani suggested, is perfectly suited to Pulisic’s dynamic style of play, allowing him to influence the game from multiple positions.

During the intervening period, the American international had endured a frustrating run, taking 39 shots in the league without finding the back of the net. Beyond the individual goal, Pulisic has also demonstrated a return to more consistent attacking output.
