Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement over the transfer of Yan Diomande, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is expected to travel to the Spanish capital this week for a medical examination ahead of signing a contract until 2031, with the fee reportedly exceeding €100 million.
However, Sky Germany dispute that the deal is complete, insisting negotiations remain ongoing and that several aspects still require resolution. The conflicting reports leave the transfer in a delicate phase despite apparent momentum towards the Santiago Bernabéu.
PSG withdraw as Leipzig hold firm
The development follows Paris Saint-Germain’s formal withdrawal from the race. The French club confirmed on Sunday evening that they had ended their pursuit, stating: “PSG has this evening formally withdrawn its interest in, and bids for, Yan Diomande. The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive.”
PSG had previously agreed personal terms with Diomande and appeared poised to secure his signature. However, RMC Sport report that the club walked away due to Leipzig’s financial demands and disappointment with the player’s representatives, who allegedly altered their stance despite existing agreements.
Record bids rejected
RB Leipzig’s refusal to sanction a move for less than an exceptional fee has already seen them reject two separate €100 million offers. Real Madrid’s recent bid comprised a €90 million fixed sum plus €10 million in add-ons, mirroring an earlier approach from Liverpool FC that was similarly dismissed.
The Bundesliga club’s hardline stance has driven up the price amid growing interest. Arsenal and Manchester City have also made recent enquiries about the forward, who contributed 12 goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga last season and made his World Cup debut for Ivory Coast this summer.

With PSG now out of contention, Real Madrid appear positioned to complete the signing if they can satisfy Leipzig’s valuation. The German club remain adamant that any deal must exceed the €100 million threshold already deemed insufficient.
