Roma and Bologna exchange strikers
Castro’s transfer from Bologna to Roma is valued at €35 million plus add-ons, with the capital club also securing a 10 per cent share of any future sale. The agreement creates a domino effect between the clubs, with Ukraine international Artem Dovbyk heading to Bologna as part of the reshuffle.
Dovbyk joins the Emilia-Romagna side on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Bologna will cover the striker’s full salary during the temporary spell. Both players are expected to complete their medical tests on Tuesday, representing the final step before official announcements.
Bologna strengthen midfield
Bologna are also preparing to welcome Mikel Amondarain from Argentine club Estudiantes. The midfielder has received clearance to travel from South America for his medical examination.
The transfer fee stands at €10 million plus performance-related bonuses. The 21-year-old becomes the second arrival at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this week as the club rebuilds following Castro’s departure.
Milan win race for Diawara
AC Milan will examine defender Sankhoun Diawara after agreeing a €3 million deal with Troyes. The Rossoneri beat competition from Scottish club Glasgow Rangers to secure the signature.
The agreement includes a percentage of any future transfer fee for the French side. The medical on Tuesday will determine whether the young defender can join Milan’s pre-season preparations immediately.

While rivals prepare for medicals, Monza have already finalised their business by signing 21-year-old striker Gustavo Varela from Benfica. The Portuguese club confirmed the permanent transfer on Monday, beating other interested parties to the player’s signature.
