Torino are intensifying their recruitment drive with multiple deals at various stages of completion. Swiss defender Eray Comert has arrived to undergo medical examinations, while the Serie A club are in advanced negotiations to secure Ajax midfielder Kian Fitz-Jim.

Comert arrives for medical

Comert landed at Caselle Airport in Turin on Tuesday and will undergo medical tests over the next 48 hours. The 28-year-old centre-back is available as a free agent after his contract with Valencia expired, and he brings international experience with 23 senior caps for Switzerland.

His arrival represents the most advanced of Torino’s current transfer operations, with the defender expected to complete his move imminently.

Midfield target identified

Sky Sport Italia reports that Torino have opened advanced negotiations with Ajax for Fitz-Jim. The 23-year-old, who celebrated his birthday earlier this month, is an academy graduate who made 22 competitive appearances for the Dutch side last season, scoring once.

His contract with Ajax is set to expire at the end of the coming season, making him an attractive prospect as he enters the final year of his deal.

Goalkeeper deal on hold

While an agreement has been reached with Leeds United for goalkeeper Lucas Perri, the Brazilian cannot yet travel for his medical. The transfer is contingent upon Leeds completing the signing of a replacement, leaving Perri in limbo despite Torino having secured terms with the Championship club.

Defensive loan agreed

Torino have also finalised an agreement with Fiorentina for defender Pietro Comuzzo. The 20-year-old will join on loan for €1 million, with the deal including an option to make the transfer permanent for a further €19 million.

The Granata hope to conclude several of these deals within the week as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
