Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected an approach from Fiorentina for Nigeria international striker Tolu Arokodare. The Serie A club tabled a proposal for the forward, but the Premier League side turned down the bid, according to reports from Italy.

The 2000-born striker has emerged as a target for clubs across Europe this summer. Turkish side Trabzonspor have also shown interest and made their own unsuccessful attempt to secure the Nigerian’s services. However, sources suggest that Wolves are not the only obstacle facing potential suitors.

Player reluctant to move

Arokodare himself appears unwilling to leave Wolves at this stage of the transfer window. Reports indicate that the forward currently has little desire to move, presenting a significant barrier to any club hoping to tempt him away from English football.

This stance complicates matters for Fiorentina, who are actively seeking attacking reinforcements for manager Fabio Grosso. The Viola had identified Arokodare as a candidate to fill their need for a wide attacker, viewing the Nigerian as a potential solution to their offensive requirements.

Alternatives under review

With Wolves unwilling to negotiate and the player showing no desire to depart, Fiorentina are expected to pivot towards alternative targets. The club maintains a list of options as they continue their search for the right profile to strengthen Grosso’s squad.

Canada international Luca Koleosho remains among the names under consideration. Fiorentina will likely intensify their efforts to secure one of their alternative targets as the transfer window progresses and their need for attacking width becomes more pressing.
