Stade Rennais FC have secured a deal to sign Adrien Thomasson. The French midfielder will move from RC Lens when his contract ends in June.
The 32-year-old has given his word to join the Breton side. He will leave Lens as a free agent. His current deal expires next month. He signed a three-year contract with Lens in 2023.
Thomasson has enjoyed an excellent season in Ligue 1. He has recorded ten assists. No other player in the league has more assists than him this term.
Lens paid tribute to the player on Wednesday evening. This happened after their defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The transfer brings Thomasson back together with familiar faces. He will work under Franck Haise again. Haise was his manager at Lens but now coaches Rennes. The midfielder will also meet former teammates Brice Samba and Przemysław Frankowski. Arnaud Pouille will be his president again. Pouille held the same role at Lens before moving to Rennes.
Rennes will take part in European competitions next season. This marks their return to continental football for the first time since 2024. The club hopes Thomasson will strengthen their squad for these matches.
