Michele Di Gregorio’s agent has publicly attacked Juventus management, accusing the club of wasting €130 million on “terrible” strikers and unfairly making the goalkeeper a scapegoat for their failures.
Carlo Alberto Belloni issued a blistering statement on Instagram demanding “respect” for his client. “They spend €130m for 3 terrible strikers, then shift the blame onto the goalkeeper,” he wrote, referring to the club’s recent attacking signings. He specifically criticised former CEO Damien Comolli, who was replaced by Giovanni Carnevali last month.
Instability and Statistics
Belloni highlighted chaotic internal conditions to defend Di Gregorio’s performance. “Look at 20 new players in two seasons, 3 coaches in 2 seasons, 3 sets of directors in 2 seasons. These are the numbers that make the real difference,” he stated.
The agent used statistical comparisons with champions Inter to support his argument. “Goals conceded by Juventus 34, Inter 35. Goals scored by Juventus 61, Inter 82. The rest is just talk worth zero,” he noted. He added that Di Gregorio ranked fourth in Sofascore statistics, ahead of Inter’s Mile Svilar and Yann Sommer.
Juventus are reportedly searching for a new shot-stopper this summer. During the previous campaign, Di Gregorio was occasionally dropped in favour of Mattia Perin during periods of poor form.
Contract and Future
Despite the tension, Belloni confirmed Di Gregorio will honour his contractual obligations. The goalkeeper has three years remaining on his deal and will attend pre-season training as scheduled.
However, the agent hinted at potential transfer activity. “He is on the short list of several European clubs, so we are in no rush,” Belloni explained. “We demand respect for those who always stepped up.”
