Paris Saint-Germain have tabled a €40 million bid to Ajax for forward Mika Godts, with journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that the 21-year-old has already agreed to join the French champions. However, the Dutch club are demanding €60 million for the Belgium international, leaving negotiations at an early stage.
Godts enjoyed a prolific 2025-26 season with Ajax, contributing 17 goals and 15 assists across all competitions. His performances have established him as one of the most productive young attackers in the Eredivisie, attracting interest from major European clubs seeking to reinforce their forward lines.
PSG rebuild attack
The pursuit forms part of a wider rebuilding of PSG’s forward line following the confirmed departures of Gonçalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in. The loss of both players has left the squad short of options in the final third, forcing the club to accelerate their recruitment strategy ahead of the new season.
The situation could worsen if Bradley Barcola completes a mooted switch to Liverpool. The 23-year-old winger is reportedly a target for the Premier League side, which would further deplete PSG’s attacking resources.
Valuation gap remains
While Godts has given his approval to the transfer, the deal remains contingent on the clubs agreeing a fee. Ajax’s valuation stands €20 million above PSG’s opening offer, suggesting further rounds of talks will be required before any medical or official announcement.
To offset their outgoing players, PSG are working to complete multiple attacking additions. Maghnes Akliouche, the 24-year-old midfielder, is expected to complete his move to Paris within hours according to separate reports.
The Belgian’s willingness to make the switch to Ligue 1 puts pressure on the Dutch side to compromise, though Ajax are under no immediate financial pressure to sell their top scorer from the previous campaign. PSG’s initial €40 million proposal represents a starting point rather than a final agreement.
