Ipswich Town have struck a deal with RC Strasbourg Alsace to secure Paraguay international Julio Enciso, according to reports. The financial terms of the transfer have not been disclosed.

The 22-year-old forward is set to return to the club for a second spell, having previously spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The move reunites him with manager Gary O’Neil, who worked with Enciso at Strasbourg last season before his recent appointment at the Premier League side.

Enciso is poised to leave Strasbourg after just one season, during which he established himself as a key attacking threat. The Paraguay international made 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and registering nine assists. His direct involvement in 21 goals made him one of the French side’s most productive players during the campaign.

The agreement continues Ipswich’s ambitious recruitment strategy in the current transfer window. The Tractor Boys have ranked among the division’s biggest spenders this summer, already breaking their transfer record with a €28 million deal for Brazilian striker Emersonn from Toulouse FC. Their recruitment drive has focused heavily on French football, with the club also securing managerial expertise by poaching O’Neil from Strasbourg.

The connection between the two clubs has now been strengthened further with Enciso’s expected arrival. His existing relationship with O’Neil and prior experience playing for the club could smooth his transition into the squad. The forward’s versatility and goal-scoring record suggest he will compete for a starting position in Ipswich’s attacking lineup.

While the club have not issued an official confirmation, the reported agreement represents a significant addition to their forward line as they prepare for the new Premier League season. The exact fee remains undisclosed.
