Mainz 05 have secured the services of veteran goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow from Heart of Midlothian. The 34-year-old will initially remain with the Scottish club for two Champions League qualifiers before competing for the Bundesliga side’s number-one shirt.

The 30-year-old has ended his brief Bundesliga spell by signing for the UAE Pro League side after BSC Young Boys declined to make his loan permanent.
